#ENDSARSNOW: We just might be ready for change

Nigerian youths have all come together to have one voice against the menace that is “Special Anti- Robbery Squad”, aka SARS.

These group of armed men have been known to terrorize Nigerian youths, profiling them, harassing them and even worse, killing them. For a long time, Nigerians have begged the government to intervene. On three different occasion, the government have “ended SARS” for a very short period of time all to shut the Nigerian people up

This time, however, the youths say “NO”. We want SARS gone and for real this time. It has become a pain to wear new clothes, have a new phone or drive new cars in the country all because one does not want to be terrorised by SARS. As a matter of fact, people have become more afraid of this body that is supposed to protect us than actual armed robbers

Nigerian Youths have been termed lazy a lot of times. A lot of occasions has ended on Twitter trends but this time, it was taken to the streets. For the past two days, the youths have cried out to the government to let them live. They have cried to the government to end SARS

Nigerians who could not join the physical protest ensured that the #ENDSARS trend stayed on top and gets noticed worldwide. The hashtag became the number 1 trend all over the world. Nigerians wanted to be heard and they screamed louder than ever, not minding if it cost them their voices.

For the first time in a very long time, I have never been more proud to be a Nigerian. We have truly had enough and it all starts from here. From fighting for our lives to fighting for a good governance

It is truly admirable that the Nigerian Youths can come together to speak with one voice, fight for one thing and are not willing to stop till they get it. It starts from here. There is still hope for a better Nigeria

I do hope Nigerians recognise the power that they have and use it. I do hope they never let it go.

Let’s keep the fire burning until we #ENDSARS
