Meet Joshizzy – The Emerging Artist Making His Mark In The Music Industry.

Can we meet you? Please introduce yourself.
I’m Joshizzy, but my real name is Martins Joshua Eniola. You can call me Joshizzy.

Ok, Joshizzy, tell us about your background; educational, professional, musical.
I’m currently studying Business Administration at Crown-Hill University and presently in my 3rd year. I’m also a Performing/Recording Artiste, songwriter, drummer and graphics designer.

When did you begin your journey as a musician?
I believe I was 14 years old when I began to do music.

What inspired to go into music and what has being your drive so far?
I can’t point any specific thing that inspired me to go into music. I just realized my talent and that has been my drive. I’ve been an unsigned artiste so far trying to manage school life and my music career, and I believe I’ve been able to achieve a number of things for myself and with the help of a few friends.

What genre of music are you into?
Afrobeats mainly but I do other genres also.

Which would you say you are? Singer, producer, songwriter writer, instrumentals?
I’m a singer and also a songwriter. I write my songs.

How long have you been in the music industry?
8yrs coming.

Is there anyone in the industry that inspires you?
Yes… WizKid, Lax, Drake, Dua Lipa, Burna Boy. They are much but can’t mention all.

What inspires your music?
My music is inspired by my Family, Friends, the environment and basically everything around me.

What would you say are the perks of the music industry?
The Fame, The money, The luxury life they life and all.

Are you currently signed to any label?
None for now.

What label do you dream of getting signed into?
There are so many labels I will like to join but I can’t mention them for now.

What is your long term goal in the industry?
My goal Is to achieve what no African artiste has ever achieved and also create a legacy for those that are coming behind.

Which artiste(s) would you love to do a collabo with?
Hmm, they are much o. Wizkid, Burna Boy, Lax, Mayorkun, Emaxee, Efya, Drake , J hus, Koffee, Tems, Skillibeng, Buju and others. I can’t mention them all.

What do you detest about the industry?
I detest the ‘Fake Life’. That’s the biggest scam in the music industry.

Which of your songs was very personal to you and what inspired that song?
“Factually”. I’ve not released the song yet but it was inspired by my family background growing up.

What challenges do you face in the industry?
Challenges in this industry? Let me just mention a few like; Hate, Zero to no support, Fake Love, Dissatisfaction and frustration, Disappointment, Sometimes, Depression… let me just stop there.

Is music your forever plan? Or do you have your eyes set on other things?
I love music, certainly, as long as I live I will still be in the music industry but, I also have my eyes on other things like; Modeling, Clothing Brand and to also own a graphics design company!

What’s your take on musicians that do not write their own music?
Personally, I don’t have any issues with musicians that don’t write their songs, I mean, not everyone can be a songwriter.

Who’s your icon in the Nigerian music industry?
That can go to no other. WizKid is my number one.
