Four Nigerian Footballers Who Have Featured In Movies

Footballers gain money and fame by what they do on the pitch. But a number of them too remain relevant even off the pitch, as they engage in other activities, like acting.

Some Nigerian footballers who have shown their acting side include:

1. John Utaka:

You remember John Utaka, don’t you? He scored that unforgettable winner in the 2-1 victory over Cameroon at 2004 AFCON. His brother Peter also played for the Super Eagles.
Utaka starred in the 2013 movie “Battered,” alongside Fatima Jabbe.

2. Emmanuel Babayaro:

Former Nigerian goalkeeper Emmanuel Babayaro, whose younger brother Celestine also played for Nigeria, is a form producer and actor, having featured in movies like “Growing Up,” “Fantastic Fanatics” and “Taking Chances.”

3. Obafemi Martins:

Ex- Nigerian and Inter Milan forward Obafemi Martins starred in the movie “Growing Up” alongside Emmanuel Babayaro, Chioma Chukwuka and Yemi Blaq.

4. Peter Osaze Odemwingie:

Odemwingie, who has played for clubs like Lille, Likomotov Moscow and West Brom and is a 3-time EPL player of the month winner, also made an appearance in the movie “Growing Up.”
Guess this movie brought several football stars together.
