NLC tasks Obiano on minimum wage

Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Anambra State has called Governor Willie Obiano to comply with the agreement reached on minimum wage and its consequential adjustment immediately after the COVID-19 pandemic.

The chairman of the state chapter of the NLC, Comrade Jerry Nnubia, made the call yesterday in a speech to mark this year’s workers’ day in Awka.

“It is the demand and expectation of the congress that the agreement on the implementation of the new minimum wage and its consequential adjustment as signed between organised labour and the state government on 24th January 2020 be implemented fully as soon as the COVID-19 crisis is over,” he said.
