Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje is currently under fire for allegedly forcing Christain girls in Kano to renounce their religion
Christian Rights Agenda (CRA) has in a statement issued by its interim director of publicity, Tom Chaimen, condemned this “forced and provocative conversion”.
CRA accused Ganduje of embarking on mass conversion of indigenous Hausa Christians every Friday, using inducement and coercion, since he assumed office in 2015.
The group claimed that many Hausa Christians, live in perpetual fear as second-class citizens, nd have also been denied employment opportunities.
The group threatened to sue the governor and report him to the international community, unless he returned the girls to Christianity.
Ganduje has however described the allegation as a baseless account fabricated by religious bigots to tear the fragile nation along religious lines.
